GAHFH empowers our neighbors to build a sustainable future and to contribute to the quality of life here in our community. Because we live in a small but vibrant and diverse community, these values are shared by many non-profit organizations, congregations, and fellowship groups. We are all dependent on our neighbors' generosity , spirit and goodwill. We seek to be a catalyst for meaningful partnerships to share in the work of fundraising and grant writing for our organizations and advocacy for the quality of life and needs of our lower income neighbors.

​​Engage with our Advisory Group

The GAHFH Advisory Group builds our capacity to grow our services and impact to the community. Meeting only 4 times a year, the group pursues a number of initiatives requiring specific expertise in a variety of arenas. Expertise in real estate, volunteer coordination and management, adult education, fundraising, corporate sponsorship development, and mission advocacy. At times, members of the Advisory Group may participate in special projects as a result of identified goals.

Pursue grant opportunities to build our general fund

Enhancing our technological abilities for scheduling and communication with volunteers

Griffin Area Habitat for Humanity (GAHFH) has between 1 and 3 houses under construction or undergoing major repairs at any one time. All are welcome to join our community of dedicated building volunteers. No prior construction experience is required as we will train you in the safe use of tools and equipment. We will provide safety equipment and any necessary tools.


Our schedule varies according to weather and the building processes underway, so sign up to be alerted to upcoming building events. To join our Team

Do you lead an organization or support a social group that needs a fun, rewarding team-building event or project? Bring your team and roll up your sleeves, because there's no better way to build common bonds, foster teamwork, and strengthen communication skills than scheduling a day when your group can come together in the service of the community.  


Contribute a day, month, or a year of supporting our building activities and other projects, like staffing fund-raising activities or mentoring homeowners. We can provide warm-up and debrief team-building activities that can connect your team's experiences with GAHFH with their shared values in your organization.

Our Board of Directors have a zeal for building the quality of life through affordable homeownership and financial literacy education. Monthly Board meetings and a commitment of 10-hours each month is all that's needed to support GAHFH operations.
